Burrillville, Rhode Island – February 26, 2016 – Frank Galleshaw III announced the George P. Ducharme Scholarship for Burrillville High School 2016 Graduating Seniors. The scholarship is to assist in the financial requirements the next generation of college/university students must undertake as the cost in continuing education continues to increase.
George P. Ducharme scholarship is open to students attending a U.S.-based four-year college or university. To be eligible to apply student must be a Burrillville town resident, member of the Burrillville High School 2016 graduating class and official acceptance to a matriculating accredited four-year college or university. Qualifying applicant will need to completely fill out an application with stated supporting material that will demonstrate financial need, academic and personal recommendations, academic efforts and achievements, school and community involvement, and documented personal statement.
The application process is open now through May 6, 2016. One winner will be chosen by a review committee appointed by Wright’s Farm Restaurant. Award recipient will be selected based on the information provided through the application process and will be announced at the Burrillville High School Senior Award Night. The winning student will receive $5,000 to be paid directly to the accredited four-year college or university.
